Hi All,

My boot is driving my crazy and I have to turn to my fellow Merc owners in a bid to calm my dismay and frustration. 2011 e220 cdi...

Symptom: Boot doesn't open by handle, or key fob, or drivers door switch. Manual key entry works.

Additional info: Wiring appears intact. No noise on pressing handle. Fuse is fine (assuming I am looking at the correct one, which I think I am). No other issues although my third brake light bulb has just come on, which is suspicious.

Any clues out there as to where the problem is here?

Thanks for your time.

Have a look at the loom by the hinges, maybe some broken/damaged wiring.

+1 for the wiring in the hinges. I would even go so far to say its the fat brown wire which snapped.

Hi, thanks for the messages. Alas, the wiring appears to be intact so I guess the only thing that leaves is the mechanism itself.
