yesterday I removed my battery from the boot for charging, I closed the boot like an idiot and now due to central locking i cannot open it as there is no battery. i do not have the metal bit of the key. it is a c180 1999. i am confused, please help
By the way i can open the doors as they were not look and have access to the bonnet. are there any terminals at the front of the car ie underneath bonnet
If you look on the passenger side inner wing there is small black box (approx. 2"x1") remove the cover and there is two studs you can put 12 volts on here but ensure you get the polarity correct, (do not attempt at jump starting from this point).
You also may have another problem regarding your disconnected battery leads as if they have come to rest on the chassis after you disconnected them you could short out the supply you introduce at the black box under the bonnet.
Get a key blade A.S.A.P approx. £11 from MB, once you have this ensure all locks operate as it is,nt uncommon for the locks to sieze, especially the "boot".
