I recently took my battery out to charge it, i accidentally closed the boot and could not open it because i did not have the metal key bit. i went to the dealers and ordered the metal bit. today the metal bit has arrived however it opens the car doors but not the boot. Initially it wouldnt go into the boot barrel so i used wd40 and tapped it in. It now goes in but would not turn, i dont wont to use a pliar to turn it because it might break. Can some please help, i have a C180 1999.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Your only option is possibly to break the lock open. I won't say on a public forum how to do that. If you want to know give me a call and I will be happy to tell you how to do it.

No is the answer to that, the only way i know poss (not knocking you olly) is to jack up front, put a live to starter 13mm nut and earth to body and hope your battery terminals in boot are clear of the body work, then use remote to unlock car/boot!

it will take time to free just keep trying by hand or it might be poss if you can get access to the engine bay & trace the battery cables at that end and use jump leads and the battery to power up the lock sytem .never tryed it but seems plausable

i have used this method but boot would not open. Car lights etc switch on. My initial problem was the car would not start and the central locking was not working i was told it could possibly be the battery hence why i removed it for charging. They must be some expert on this forum, i appreciate the help i am receiveng so far, thank you
