Brace of old 280s and a new E class

Two lovely old 280s at the Waddington Air Show today:

Also Mercedes had a stand where they had a new E class saloon and coupe, and a few other cars, and a fleet of attractive ladies, talking amongst themselves and doing nothing to generate the leads I am sure they were there to do.

Surprised I wasn't approached as I spent some time looking carefully at them (the cars).

I was particularly interested in the carpet in the cars, bears an uncanny resemblance to that in my son's Seat Ibiza, and none at all to that in my 124.

No doubt someone will be along soon to tell me its a modern, much harder wearing and lighter carpet. I think its looks and feels cheap, but then I think the car does too.

[Mercedes 190E]

Had a lift back from the local stealer in a new E class last week when I took our W211 in for warranty work. Not impressed, I must be honest. I quite like the outside styling, but the inside frankly looked like it belongs in a Vauxhall Vectra-very gimmicky and "plastic".
