Hi I need some help please. I drive a 2005 w203 c320 cdi 642 engine. Start up nothing wrong. Drive about 70 km and the brakes fade untill theres nothing and esp faulty mesage shows on dash. Leave for half and hour and all is back to normal . brakes normal and messege gone.
What might cause this.

Hello and welcome,

When was the brake fluid last changed? It absorbs water overtime which means once the brakes get warm the water boils and you get brake fade.

I'd look to change the brake fluid first

Welcome :)

Do you know when the fluid was last changed - or the service history of the car?

I would also be looking to see if brakes are binding a little. That will overheat them and fade them out after some mileage.

As above ^^

Could be vacuum pressure problem but sounds odd that at start there is a vacuum but after long distance, not.

Good morrning to all. I had a look yesterday and found that the left caliper was binding. I proceeded to remove and strip and found the brake pads to be 1mm from steel on steel. I cleaned and lubricated moving parts and asembled. Did right side as well but pads there were allot thicker.. problem seems to be put to bed. Thank you for the assistance.
