I was wondering if anybody knew where I could get a brake light switch for my 1962 Mercedes 220SE. I was hoping there would be somewhere in London, although I would get it couriered if further away. Not that I know anything about mechanicals, but it is the one which is on the master cylinder.

Secondly; does anybody know which is the best oil to use on this car. Should I avoid synthetics?

And finally, a source to get hold of a manual on this car if anybody knows.
Many thanks

Andrew

A MB dealer can get you the parts you need. A good quality 10w 40 should be fine.

I still use Castrol GTX or Duckhams mineral oils in an old rotary. (Which shouldn't have synthetics in it).I change it frequently since it's a fraction of the cost of synthetic. Castrol even have a range for older engines (which doesn't suit me because it closes up sealing spaces), this oil may well suit your car.
I don't know of any reason why you should avoid synthetics. Maybe someone else has a view?
