HI
I have an early 2006 E200k. I'm familiar with the SBC humming noise.
Just recently, the brake system appears to generate a "squeek/queek" noise whenever I brake gently/hard. The brake efficiency is not affected but I'm annoyed with the noise.
Has anyone experienced this ?
Pls advise.
Regards

Dont know this one but open the bonnet and have someone listen while pushing the pedal to see if it is the pump or the calipers

Normal brake caliper squeak?
Does happen, though admittedly neither of ours have done it, easy to fix anyway. It'll be a warranty thing so let your dealer to take a look.

There is a special anti squeel grease available that they use at dealers. It is different than regular brake grease.

Hi
Does not appear to be the calipers. Opened the bonnet; got someone to press on the brake pedal whilst engine is running. Noise not from the SBC but somewhere down the engine bay (corresponding to foot well). Not sure whether it is the brake pedal. I'll be going over to the workshop next Monday.
By the way, would the electric pump make this noise ? Does anyone know how it works ?
Regards..
