Brake Pad Wear Warning

Just had this warning come up on the dash. How many safe miles have I got left?

Interestingly, email from Mercedes Me followed about 30 minutes later asking me if I wanted to book a service appointment!

500+ depending upon how many emergency brake applications you do (or not…)

Have a look at the pads through the wheel .... how much material is left? You'll probably have a good couple of hundred miles left ....

As above, but as pads sometimes wear unevenly I'd get get them changed as soon as convenient.
It may be worth looking now as some MB brake components are currently in short supply or with long lead times.

if MB prices are comparable to their Smart prices I'd have thought MB would have warehouses full of the stuff

£292 total bill - but I’ve never done my own repairs and am not going to start now

MB though would be the very last place I'd let change brakes .... you must have a decent local garage that could have done them for at least half the price.

As per the thread I've just start re my Smart's brakes. A little look on line at Europarts ... they charge less for both the shoes & cylinders (£110) than MB charge just for the shoes (£150)
And you have to bear in mind that MB buy stuff in .... they don't make shoes/pads/cylinders/calipers/etc

It was convenience more than anything else. I’m going away shortly (road trip) and have other journeys and a Gatwick run to do this week. Phoned MB on Friday and they could do it on Monday so the easy option, I’m afraid

I had to wait 4 weeks for front pads to be shipped in by MB. None of the usual stockists had any nor could they give me a lead time of when they might be in.
