Rears are probably £30-50 for pads , an hour to fit at your local decent garage £50 ? I don’t think that will be far out

None of the above! As vtaylor says, or find a reputable local garage .... I'd not trust Kwikfit to fill my tyres with air

Any decent garage should be able to do it as long as you don't have SBC (which you don't).
As above, I wouldn't trust either Halfords or Kwik Fit.

Any standard garage should be able to do the whole job for £80-90 there’s not even a need to go to a m b indi
( although they are good ). But your local small garage should be capable of doing these in no time. very simple job.

Take them anywhere...MB have quoted me over £150 just for pads on mine - wether front or back...

alternatively I normally do them myself though as most arent complicated but I’d get why people don’t ...

Got mine from MB Grangemouth and fitted myself on the 212 but the rears were a pain to be honest, needed 3 hands at least!

What's wrong with Halfords
I took my 129 for a Hunter alignment.
The operator did the work and brought the sheet through at the end. I looked at it and noticed he'd entered the vehicle as an r230 "as that was the earliest SL500 in the system". He took me out to show me at which point I told him to try entering it as 500SL and lo and behold there it was (with very different values). He then tried to tell me the front could only be adjusted to toe which isn't the case - cue 1 hour training session on how early 129 adjustment can be done to correct both caster and camber. The good thing about it was I know it was bang on as I supervised him the entire job. No discount though.....

You were lucky there LK.
I took my 55 for them to check the Halfords battery they sold me (still under warranty) to be told by 2 different employees that it wasn't the battery, my car wasn't charging the battery. I told them that I have been using my spare battery while I charged their battery and the spare battery didn't go flat. So young chap went and got senior chap who said that it was my alternator! Hence my new alternator and guess what, battery went flat  Took the battery back and told them that their battery it crap and I want a replacement and don't bother trying to fob me off with your incompetence because you have already miss diagnosed it last week which have cost me. Finally after 10 minutes of checking said battery, (it was out of the car) they gave me another battery and asked if I wanted them to fit it
I do use them mainly for insignificant bits and pieces as I do get reasonable discount, unfortunately I also get good discount on battery's for some reason

Given the predicament you want it done as cheap as possible and as its only pads without requiring any specialists knowledge.

Get to Eurocarparts or the like and order the pads. Chuck them in the boot and go to normal garage and get them changed. Not even a need a for a merc indy as I would say such a job doesnt requires an indy (specialisty knowledge, diags etc etc).

If your handy, DIY
