I have had a vibration for a while when braking but only above 50mph. It had new brakes all round about a year and 5000 miles ago.

My usual guy for mechanical things had a look and found 2 worn steering joints that he replaced which didn't solve it. One of the rear discs was just out of tolerance so he tried a fresh set of discs and pads and it is still there, luckily he managed to clean, return them and refit the originals.

He is out of ideas at the moment but is waiting for the owner to come back from holiday to see if he has any ideas.

Anybody here have any thoughts

Sticking wheel cylinder piston(s) due to corrosion, sticking caliper sliders due to using copper based grease and/or corrosion.
Worn wheel bearings. Disc heat warping caused by wheel cylinder piston binding/sticking.

Bent hubs from overtightned wheel bolts is a common one!
Good call Alex.
where the disc screw went trough to the hub there is a bit of extra on the back which hadn't fitted flush into the hub so left a tiny gap either side of it, doing up the wheel bolts ether side pulled the disc and hub together warping both of them. This was also causing a slight vibration at speeds above 70 (allegedly :) ) where the disc was touching on the pad each revolution.

So new discs and a hub.
He also spotted a bit of a rough feel to the wheel bearing so they are being replaced as well.

Looking forward smooth cruising and breaking when it is all done.
