Hi All I hope someone can help me with this

About 6 months ago I got a Brake Wear warning on the dash brought the car home and as it was Saturday afternoon I got a set from the motor factors and replaced the worn set. The Brembo set did not have wear sensor and the old one was worn through so I expected the Brake wear message to still show. I purchased 2 wear sensors online and fitted the one (only fitted on R/H Side) at the rear. I still got the brake wear message. I have done some research and I understand that the system is just open closed circuit type and has no reset in STAR Diagnostic or as I have IcarsoftMB. I have removed rear wheel liner and checked wire continuity back to the connector that is going inside the car and there is no wire break.

The wear system worked as it should “It warned me of rear pad wear” and there was metal contacting the disk but all has been replaced.

I have checked the front and all looks good I am wondering has anyone came across this before or does my Model have an interface with Diagnostic system and need a reset. I have a test coming up soon and its a fail item.

Have you tried service reset proceedure? ... obviously you've fixed the problem and for some reason it hasn't registered it ... how about disconnecting and reconnecting battery after couple mins?

You could try fitting the other wear sensor (you said you bourght 2 ) in case it was faulty ?
Or swap the new rear with the front wear sensor (if they are the same ?)

I replaced pads earlier this year on my R Class (months before it was part ex'd o_O) and the sensors were two wires that went CLOSED when they shorted out across the disc, so, though I didn't try, if the sensor is removed all together, the warning message won't appear. This is the opposite of my Vauxhalls in that the sensors were a short across the two wires & when the disc wore through the sensor it went OPEN circuit

Hi Disconnected battery no fix. Icarsoft shows current brake lining thickness 0mm, rear axel - 100% brake wear sensor = activated. I must have the only car that needs STAR to reset after brake replacement

Issue resolved. Well the confusion was 1 of the new sensors was open circuit and the front was open circuit ( pads still ok ), when ever swapped around there was always 1 at fault. Thanks for your help guys. I suppose checking new sensors for continuity is key here.
