If the rear tyres were worn,,and it was wet the rear end could break away and the ESP would take over for those few seconds,,thats what happened

Maybe the pendulum stuck when the ESP takes over it uses the BAS to apply the brakes. I cant think what else could have happened on your car. I think that I would have turned off and on again to get a reset

As this is all safety related I think that a fault code read out would be the way to go,,if anything went wrong on the ESP or BAS circuits it will be recorded, it could be £25 well spent from an indie.. I cant see disc or ads coming into it unless one is binding

I have the same car (240) so will launch it into a roundabout later and see what happens as a bench mark :)

in reality I am still getting used to driving it, and am far too sensible these days - but interested if there is a 'thing' about them swopping ends.

It might stop that clicking

If you know that disc & pads are worn why not change them this might be a good start to your problem. Hope this helps

I can live with the clicking. you can't if your brakes aren't up to scratch - get them checked out well! I am off to put a sledgehammer through my dash

our c220 cdi saloon never has, unless provoked with the traction control off, or if there was ice/diesel/oil etc on the road :lol::lol:
