Hi,

I've got my c250d prem' plus on PCP and the break pad warning has come on and I was wondering do I have to get this done from an approved mercedes garage or no? As i wont be keeping the car at the end.

Thanks

Your best bet is to find a good local MB independant nearby to do the work
They will supply genuine OEM parts but the labour will be less than half your main dealer will charge you.

I wasn't aware, as Craig above states, that a car on PCP must go to an MB garage just to change brake pads and sensor?
Services I understand, but brake pads?

Yeah that's what I wasn't sure about as it's classed as wear and tear.

All work must be MB Approved.

I'd buy genuine pads and fit them myself.
No ones ever gonna know they've been changed..

Depends on the price the dealer quotes - mine started off a stupid price but in the end were near-as-dammit the same as an indie charged. I still used the indie though. They'll both, especially the dealer, probably want to do pads and discs though.

It's not long ago MB had a fixed price of £299 for pads and discs but that seems to have disappeared now.

On a car going back soon think I'd be minded to just change the pads - the wear limits on discs seem massively cautious.
