Hi all.

I've got a W212 , 2012 and have recently noticed a whistle/whine. It's not there when you start the engine, or when I reverse down my drive. When I pull forward it's still quiet, but as I turn up the hill and accelerate, it starts. It varies with revs just like a loose belt. If I come to a stop going uphill and pull away again, it's there a bit but barely, and as I pull out the junction that's 200 yards from my house, its stopped and I can't get it to do it again. If I pull over, turn the engine off and wait 5 minutes, it still won't replicate. If I leave it a couple of hours, it does it again, but just the once.
Garage had it in for an oil leak and said turbo is fine, as are all the pipes and no belts were loose. Anyone got any ideas?

Did they check for any leaks/splits in the pipework from turbo to engine? Look for oil smears around the pipework.

Yes, all pipes and seals are ok and the turbo was too.
