On the front nearside inner bulkhead of my W202 C240 behind the n/s light cluster and near the A/C drier there is an earthing point for something but all I have is a broken lead going nowhere and I can't see what component it was originally attached to. Everything appears to be working fine apart from the A/C system which is not functioning at present, so does anyone have an idea what it should be earthing?

The radiator should have an earth strap on it

Hi Folks - thanks for the feedback - have now managed to trace it to a severed terminal connector attached to the rear bolt on the power steering pump, should have realistically measured the severed wire just to see what it could reach. So it's not an electrical component just another connection to an engine part.

All MB steering pumps are engine driven, some earth straps are fitted to stop interference on the radio etc on various points around the engine.
