bulb gone

A side/parking bulb has blown, I'm thinking of changing them for the very white/blue type bulbs.

The question is which gives the best results?

These will put the lamp warning on owing to the lower consumption

If you read the small print it says that they are low consumption at 1 W andthis will trigger the warning lamp unless you fit compensating resistors, and that is a pain as they get hot

Hi Dave just to add I have E55 have tried low watt LED front side replacements and bulb malfunction activates.. What I would like to know is what bulbs are fitted to the 2006 -models because they appear much brighter any merc techs out there know?

As the bulbs change, so they can change the malfunction circuit to suit, not something that can be done cheaply.

Hi malcolm thanks for info I did ask merc dealer part dept what bulbs in later E Class he said they were standard 501 bulbs but I have renewed mine no improvement they look like candles next to the headlamps

The extra bright bulbs are much better, as long as the wattage stays the same it will not trigger the lamp

Yes do a search,,or look on Ebay where the brighter bulbs are sold
