Bulbs upgrade.

Hi folks, i have a 08 200k coupe can i upgrade the bulbs on the headlights and if so what type are the best to get and is it easy to change them over, is it just a case of take out the old and pop the new ones in, thanks for any replies.

Osram (Nightbreakers) seem to be widely recommended for halogen bulbs

I bought upgraded bulbs for the CLS, both xenons and halogens and let my dealer fit them. After looking at the access to the rear of the light units I thought it better let them do it, which they did FOC!

I use Osram Nightbreakers and 5000k xenons. Nice clean white light

fitting them in my 2001 S class meant I could actually see where i was going.

+1 for night breakers

Which ever lamp you fit it is of importance that the beam aiming is correctly set when a headlamp bulb is replaced, with the best will in the world there is no way that the old and new lamps will have exactly the same alignment.

Correctly setting the beams can make as much difference to the drivers vision as brighter lamps.

I changed main and dipped beams on my 08 S204 to Nightbreaker +, easy job - the owner's manual shows you how. Great improvement on standard bulbs. Access is not great, but it's easily doable. However, changing the bulbs in the side and parking lights is another matter - it helps if you're a trained gynaecologist with quadruple jointed wrists - and a set of fine extra long nose pliers!
