There is a bus lane in Theobald's Road, London, WC1 which features in the top money spinners for Camden Council.

If you have been issued a PCN recently for driving in it, ask for your money back!

I was driving my nephew's S reg Toyota Corolla when it had is picture taken on the 8th of June, 14.14. The Penalty Charge Notice offers a 50% discount for early settlement, £60, a bargain!

The only problem for Camden that there was no sign indication a "working" bus lane nor off the times of operation.

A telephone call the the Council inform me that only the registered keeper can appeal and as my nephew is not the sort of man to do so, I paid. The automatic money collection system asks no questions except detail of the card being used.

A complaint to my local Councilor produced a letter from Camden which is a study in "fudge". It would appear the the enforcement section was not informed that the new sign had not been installed and if I would care to produce documentary evidence that I paid the fine, it will be refunded.

It also stated that I should have appealed as the driver, so, who right and who is wrong?

The question is; what about all the other innocent motorists who have been fined, will Camden contact them to offer a refund?

The time of this bus lane has now changed to 24/7 from 7-11 and 4-7, why, the road is empty on the weekends!

This is the same as the incorrect speed camera in Bridport, Dorset. The camera has deemed to have incorrect markings and the Police offered the money back to anyone who had been caught on this one.

The lousy thing is that unless you lived in the area you would would not know about this, so the chances are that no one will get their money back. Those that do live there know that the camera is there. The fact that they do not contact those caught is nothing more than theft

Yes, theft. The DVLA have all the details to send a refund back via the Authority who issued these unjust Notices.

The number of motorists who use Theobald's Road which is between the West End and the City is huge due to the one way system which funnels motorist down it. For weeks the sign "Bus Lane Suspended" , in vivid red was in place while yet another bus "short cut" was installed. No "Bus Lane now in operation" to replace it was provided.

Before the new changed times there was a part time, then full time, then part time bus lane, all down the same road, confused, you bet you will be,
and I live here and was still PNC'd.

Incompetence is to polite a word for the "traffic management" of local Authorities.

I used to wonder why some cars were ticketed, but then I found out that some cars have a special bar code on the window screen, Council Essential User, one for us, one for them!
