It might be to stop someone stealing the car from the number plates. Could the number plate be acting as an anchor?

You do need doc's you can order then need to send through copy of the V5 and some form of ID

That's what I said to my mate. I'll ask him where he got his number plate for the caravan from, he's adamant no docs were required.

Technically yes, although there’s nothing illegal about using an older plate (as long as it meets current spacing etc) which won’t have BSAU 145 on.

Also many cars have legal plate surrounds that cover the BS and Post Code of the manufacture on
