When you become serious about one, I do not mind phoning you on a land line, it would take too long to write out, there are not any major issues.

There are a few issues with SBC and ABC as well as the leaking roof issue (see recent posts on an expensive seal replacement) but as Malcolm says there's nothing major to worry about - check all history and signs of warranty / recall work - an hour on the phone to Malcolm would probably save you weeks reading forums.

Thank you, already pretty well commited to buying one from main MB dealer. 12mth warranty, next service free, car has 31K VGC. Always been around Mercedes cars Father had 280CE I've had C180 E240 all from new....no problems ever. This is first used MB car ( can't afford a new SL) also looks like most of depreciation has happened.

The way things are going we can have out own little SL forum, then we can see who spends the most:confused:

The hardest job that I had in buying one was finding one with all of the goodies.

I still think you need an engine heater and a "+"
Having a switch blank would ruin it for me.

How does Blobcat know that I have just spent the last 10 mins looking at every possible extra, read every book again and the only one is the aux heater, on the South coast in england !!!!! ,no,I cant do that.

That was funny:D :D That spare button, an ejector seat for Hanah.

My SL500s have cost me nothing in depreciation and servicing / maintenance only about £500 per year - buy the right car and you're laughing.
