Buying an SL

I am looking at buying an old sl, the w107 model, has anybody got any tips of what to look for, both good and bad points and what models to avoid.

I think that you mean the 107 main thing is rust in front of the scuttle and rear end around the wheel arches.

They are a much loved car, and many owners should answer

As Malc, i think rust will be the main problem, still some out there though!!

I seem to recall some SLC's had a monoplex timing chain, worth checking a duplex one has been fitted. Lovely cars, those.

109 Sedan is the one with the air suspension, btw - the Roofless 'fave.
