Buying guidance expected

Dear all,

I'm planning to buy a Mercedeze E 270, 280 or 320 CDI with manufactured year 2008. The mileges I can afford are 300 000km . Is it safe to buy this mileged car? If you can share your thoughts or post from this forum, I am much grateful.

300,000 Km is nothing for these cars the key thing is has it been well maintained and serviced , suspension wear and tear items replaced drop links / lower arms ARB bushes etc has the Auto gearbox fluid been changed they should be good for 550,000km if well maintained check that its a non SBC model the lifed SBC braking system was deleted around then sometime ?

Late 2006 with the facelift SBC was dropped so a 2008 car should be fine

It's all about maintenance and not necessarily Main Agent as some of them just do the bare minimum.

They can be very expensive to fix so as comprehensive a pre purchase inspection as possible and with a ramp is important.

Do you have a specialised independent Mercedes garage near you to look at it ?

Hi thanks to all, may be I need to check with the authorized service agent. Another thing , is the four wheel drive version is very expensive to maintain?

We tend to prefer independent specialists here, the Main Agents as we call them are often overpriced and
not very helpful if they can't give you a big bill.

I would guess the four wheel drive is expensive to maintain, fix and with fuel.

Your winters make it much more useful, I only see snow every few years and it doesn't last.

Of course yes, that's the main point. We have around 4 months without snow. By default we have snow.

They are with winter tyres which are a legal requirement for the OP
