Hi all.

I have just aquired a 1991 300ce ( C 124 ?),131k miles,2 owners and in lovely condition. Looking at the car on the level it does seem that the back end of the car is a bit on the high side, the sort of angle you might expect to see in heavy braking. Is this the normal attitude for this model? I have seen others that look similar.

Thanks.

Nick

they do tend to sit low at the front but check you don't have broken springs a very common fault on all the w124s

If it's got a tow-bar, it may have heavy duty rear springs. If all springs look OK & you are not happy with it, the spring seats come in different thinknesses, allowing minor height adjustment front & rear. Parts are about £7 each corner from MB dealers.

Does it have self-levelling? The giveaway is the big fluid reservoir on the o/s wing

If it does, is the back end bouncy? The spheres may have failed
