After a brief flirtation with an S type Jag Diesel, I would like to return to the fold with a C class estate diesel, has anyone any comments in particular on the Diesel 200 cdi, for me comfort comes first then economy and then performance.
Thanks

Go for the 220, I feel the 200 cdi is underpowered for that size car.

The C200 Cdi is a fine engine. Perhaps a bit underpowered, but as you write comfort comes first. Go for an Elegance model with the smaller wheels and softer springs.

If your used to the 250 then the 200 maybe enough, get a decent test drive first to be sure your happy. As per above get a decent spec with a small engine and you may well be doing well for residuals later on.

Telegraph's Honest John recommends a 200cdi saloon for longevity and high mileage.

He had a V6 Diesel S type, this is a quite a rapid car with a sub 9 sec dash to 60. Even the 220cdi C Class won't be as fast, I'd maybe even recommend 270cdi engine in this case.

love it, i got the saloon 200cdi and coming from a C320 petrol the fuel economy is unreal, anything after a 15mile run its up into the 50mpg mark, and yes, is not the fastest thing in the world but still does 140 on the flat, what more do you want!!!
