I am going to replace the front discs and pads on my C class 230k (2005). I have seen references to disconnecting the SBC before commencing the operation. Please can you advise where this is located and how to proceed.

Any other advice for the job would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Terry

I assume you already have the necessary parts so why not go to your local tyre depot and ask for a quote for them to fit them.

This way you have a guarantee and should there be any problems you just go straight back and ask them to fix it. This is what I do even though I am capable of doing the job myself. I am getting lazy in my old age.

Thanks Colchelle

I became worried by reading some of the threads about SBC so thought that I should check. Presumably the ESP system, which following slightly more detailed research I see is fitted, does not carry the same problems as SBC?

GeorgeA - I take your point about using a tyre depot but I actually enjoy doing it myself!

Brake Pads Replacement

Hi Colechelle,

I remember a few posts some while back where somebody was advised to open the bleed nipples when pushing the pistons back into the caliper. This was because it was possible that one of the seals in the master cylinder might not reseal properly, particularly if the MC had some wear. I have never experienced this problem myself but wondered what you think? What are the views of the Forum?

Regards,

Ernie
