Has anyone else found the seats in this car uncomfortable ?

This is my wife's car and I find that compared to my '06' E 320 cdi, the seats are pretty
awful. In fact they are so bad, that I fitted a Brabus chip so that I could get to the shops
quickly without damaging my back !!

Any ideas to revamp the drivers seat would be most welcome.

Is that the w204?
I had one as a courtesy car last week & I would not say the seats were uncomfortable as such, they just did not feel right, but I felt the difference when I got my own car back. The CLK's seats are much better.

This subject has been up several times, where people say that they are too hard, and you sit on them and not in them as on other MB cars

Back to the good old days of hard seats ......................... I'm happy with mine ............ but then again, I don't have angina, varacous veins, heart problems, or Deep Vein Thrombosys ....... to worry about whilst I'm waiting for God !!

I am glad you have brought this subject up, I have had a test drive or two in this latest C class and noticed that I couldn’t get comfy with the seat bottom. It seems as if the front doesn’t tilt up far enough .I was wondering if I would adjust to it if I bought one ! Expensive mistake if I cannot!

C Class seats

My E Class seats are hard but comfortable as regard shape. The C Class feels as if it has ridges in the back support and adjusting the lumbar support makes no difference.

The ridges feel to be vertical in the centre of the backrest and are identical in the passenger seat.

I do not have a problem obtaining the right angles, but purely that of these ridges.

If I could find a way of eliminating this problem then I think all would be well.

As usual my MB dealership cannot help, so I am trying to find a seat specialist in the North West.

I endorse this.
I sat in a sport saloon for 10 mins in the showroom.
They are just not wide enough. The wings dug into my back.
Not "German" seats.

Quite agree about the seats in the new C Class.
I have a C220 CDI Sport, and I drive 160 miles a day.
Since owning the car, I have found it very difficult to get a comfortable seat setting, and I am constantly fiddling with the adjustment.
I have been to an Osteopath twice in the last 6 months!!!
My old 202 was far more comfortable (London seats)

Dismayed that they haven't fixed this issue from the W203 - I've never had backpain from a car seat until I got a Mercedes. The seats in my daughters SEAT Ibiza are better.

I drive all the time now with a rolled up towel at the base of my back - passengers (often BMW owners :) ) find it amusing.

C Class seats

Problem solved.

Removed the lumbar support ! it was not comming away from the
mechanism that pushes into the seat back.

1995 mercedes model C220

I am very happy to see this problem posted. My husband thinks I am crazy by saying that I find the seats up front very uncomfortable for long distance driving... Maybe it is because I am short, who knows.... Find the Ford Ranger pick-up truck much nicer!!!
