Having recently lost all power on the motorway my dealer discovered I'd lost over two litres of gearbox fluid from my auto box.
I have a 98 C250 TD automatic. Mileage 57,000 miles. Still under Signature warranty.
The car had been playing up intermittently for over 1000 miles before that.
A leaking gasket was discovered and remedied.
The dealer reckons the auto box gear was undamaged. Is it possible to lose so much fluid for the autobox to be still OK ?

regards

Yes
The oil is there to provide hydraulic drive wittth only a small amount required for lubrication.  Don't forget the box holds 7.5 litres.
