Hi All

I have a 1996 c180 that started to fluctuate it's idle speed & stall when first started. This would disapear if the box was put into D or R but now it's started to do it with D or R engaged. Doesn't seem to matter if the engine is cold or warm anymore & there is a slight hesitation when accelerating.

Could this be the maf sensor? I know they are pretty pricey so are there ways to check them or any suggestions on what else it could be?

It's done 180k so it's not exactly a spring chicken either!

Many thanks

Check for worn distributor, rotor, plugs and old HT leads then if they are all ok then move onto other stuff.
