Does anyone know why Mercedes don't offer Keyless Go in the UK - it's available as an option it the German price list (although bizarrely you need to have an auto box as well).

May be one of those marketing ploys to differentiate the models?

Dont quote me here but I think it has something to do with the fact that UK 204s all have a full deadlock locking system & they cannot (or will not) get keyless to work with it.

As dead-locking can be implemented on cars using normal central locking systems (VX Ford etc..) I don't see why MB can't sort it for key-less.

Of you are sat in the car, it knows and the doors should open as normal?

To stop manual left-in-gear starting incidents?

H'mm my VW Passat as keyless go, and it's a manual - but as with all manual passats you have to depress the clutch before it'll start.

Fair point and you can have an interlock just the same as an auto

I was just speculating... Mecedes must have some reason.

The only things with keyless go I've used are vehicles without keys, period!
