C-Class Light Switch Illumination

I presume the light switch is supposed to be illuminated? Is it a difficult job to replace the bulbs - the steering column adjustment and hand-brake release would appear to be in the way?

Which C class ?
The earlier model (->2000) didn't light up. Can't comment on the current model.

It's a 1999 C250TD and jberks has answered the question it appears that it does not illuminate - just seemed strange when all the other switches are!

Are you referring to the headlamp switch to the right of the steering column and just above the handbrake release.....????

If so, my 1994 C180 also doesn't light up either.
