I've a C180 Classic SE Auto with about 2.5K miles on the clock. Problems with the car stalling when less than quarter of a tank remains. MB say nothing wrong but patently obvious that all is not right. Anyone else with similar problems? Any ideas what could be wrong?

Help appreciated greatly!

I had the exact same problem with a G-wagen and tried changing all the bits to no avail. I think now that it may have had the fuel feed and return line accidentally swapped around. However, this is unlikely to have happened on a new car. It could be due to the fuel tank venting system (carbon cannister) or related not working properly. with little fuel, as it sloshes around in the tank, the vapours will build up pressure. Try opening and closing the tank cap when you next have the problem to see if it makes a difference.
