C/D not playing E320 CDI A/G 2001

Hi,
When i put the cds in the boot of the car they go in fine all electrics working. Go to play the cds it says on the dash no cds to play. any thoughts

This could be a fiber optic or but I think that the laser pickup head has gone down

are these bought audio cd's or ones that you have copied ?

Thanks telivision i will check the opticts and laser head. Hi davids1500 It was a mixture between copied and payed for music i also changed them about so the copied would not be the first selected. Again thanks for both your thoughts.

90% of home made disc do not have a good reflective surface,so only try bought disc while playing

Like to try and fix the probs my self if i can. As the saying goes better if you do it your self. Just been waiting 3 weeks for BGAS to fix my combi could of done it my self diaphram but warranty and stuff. Like to do the same with me motor but finding it hard to get a good work shop manual dont like doing blind.

Do try a lens cleaner, not wonderful thing but they will remove any odd hairs or dust.

Has this fault just appeared out of no where
