Hi Guys,just a quick update about my gearbox problem and the cowboy mechanic! firstly I'm pleased to say my car is now back on the road and running perfect Hooray!!!
The cause of the problem I hear you ask? The cowboy mechanic used the wrong oil in the gearbox !!!but thanks to a great guy called Amey at driver transmissions in Birmingham he quickly diagnosed the problem put a new filter in and the correct gearbox fluid and bingo perfect gears again.
I may put the cowboys company name on here as long as it doesnt break any board rules however I may take legal advice first about getting some money of Wyatt Earp!
Thankyou one and all for all your help and suggestions I'm sure if I hadn't took heed of your advice I would have been duped into a recon gearbox.
