1995 c-class 180 auto, I have two key fobs and original small keys, now the rear view mirror has two leds red and green which flash with open and close, but is this merely just a remote locking system, how do I know if this is an alarm with imobiliser?
PS - I saw a N reg c180 and I thought I saw the red led flashing slowly in the rear view ? should it do this to show alarm status?

Just went outside to test ok un-arm you get green light flash a few times doors unlock this flashes both on the door lock and the rear view in green, then arm all doors lock and red light flashes on door lock and rear view......BUT there is no flashing light ....SO i open the window and arm the car, then reach for the ignotion and turn the engine ....the horn starts to sound!! so there is an immobiliser but no alarm (passive sensors) ....
IS this the reason why I have no red LED flashing when I arm the car , even though the red LED works??
IM puzzled! all help appereciated!
