C180 auto gearbox not changing

Hi all, hope you all are ok, new member here.

Hope you can help me. I have a 98 C180 auto. Car stays in 1st gear first thing in the morning when weather is cold. The gearbox oil was changed last year at MB dealer, it has been back 3 times re above, last time they told me it was air mass meter (cost me 400 quid) but its still the same. Engine revs at 4500 and stays there, drove 3 miles without it changing (this was after leaving it to warm up for 10 mins). I then go to work and leave the car all day, it changes fine when I go home again (without it warming up). When weather is ok car is fine. Also was stopped on a slight slope lifted foot off brake and car rolled back (it was still in d). MB dealer can't find anything wrong please help as I am going to pull my hair out. Is the oil level ok in the box if not this will cause the problems you are having. as the oil warms up it expands so the pressure will rise and gear change will happen.
try that first
p.s just because the dealer has looked at it dosnt mean they have checked the oil level
depends on how good the tech is that looked at it.

Mercedes C-180 Gearbox Problem

MY Mecredes C-180 Kompressor Gearbox Locks In A gear While I'm Driving And When I Stop And Change It To Park And Switch It Off And Start It Again The Gearbox Is Right.

Can You Tell Me What Is The Problem? Thank You Piet

This will probably be the speed sensor plate at fault and quite easy to change in the box
