hi iam new to this and have just got mercedes c180 auto drove home lovely 80 miles never missed a beat parked car .next day nothing ? my local garage thought it could be inhibiter switch checked that seems ok now they think could be imobiliser ?anyone any ideas thank you sad.:( mb owner

hi malcom engine dosent turn over.locking works.wdb2020.you can bypass switch car starts .no power at ignition from inhibitor switch thank you

hi my local garage got my 180 running temp at the moment it would appear its not inhibiter switch but ignition relay switch does anyone know where that is located when i use car there seems to be a clicking noise from glove box could it be in there if so what am i looking for? thank you

This switch often known as K38 is fitted under the dash on the fire wall where you can here it clicking,behind the passenger kick panel on the center console.

I believe that this was an extra relay fitted to some cars and you could by pass it the same way as your garage did, the wire from ign switch goes to this starter lock out that in turn goes to the immoblizer.

hi malcom your information was spot on k38 relay was the problem conections where slack car now starts of the key thank you you have been a great help sam..very happy mb owner
