I really need some urgent advice please.

I have a C180 Estate 2011 Reg (W204) and get the amber 'Check Engine' light which comes on intermittently. Took it to main dealer and ran a diagnostic test which shows no fault.

The car does not drive very smoothly and feels misfiring but very subtly. Have changed the plugs and coil leads but does not help.

Now it's failing the MOT because of the amber warning light.

Can some please suggest a solution as I drive the car for my livelyhood.

Thank you in advance.

STAR must show a code that brings up the warning lamp, you will need to have the front SAM queried. Try a local Indy (use the "Find a Mercedes Specialist near you" function on the main forum. Should cost you £50 for a diagnostic test.

Hi
Whats the mileage?
If you feel it when 'hot', it could be the crank/cam position sensors.

Thank you @craiglxviii & @mattkh for your reply.

Luckily passed MOT at second attempt as Engine Light had gone off. I will take it to a local Indy and see what comes up. Proving to be quite an expensive exercise. The car has done over 150,000 miles.
