C180 Classic with No Balls!

Got a C180 1.8 Classic (P Plate - 1997) and its been a dream ever since I brought it for £16K off the Merc forcourt when it was a mere 6 months old with 10K on the clock (test milage only). 85K later and its had its first problem! When you floor it all the power vanishes and there is no power over 3,000 RPM. The CAT is still intact and there are no bits rattling in the exhaust. My thoughts are the mass air flow meter. Its not misfiring and its not been a gradual thing so something has either clogged up or the ECU has thrown a wobbler (adaptive fuel value gone ary etc.)

Anyone else had this problem?

i think your right with the air mass meter but also make sure throttle body is very clean inside as well.good luck (meter is approx £200 from agent)
