I need to replace the mast in my aerial, which I believe, though can't be sure, is a factory fit. The car is a 1995 C180 Elegance, and the aerial mechanism, which is fine, is marked 'Bosch Autojet 7691 240 732. I'm told that the usual aerial in these cars is a Hirschmann. Any ideas on where I might get a mast, or do I have to replace the lot?

Ebay has got a couple of Hirschmann Auta 2040's at the moment. These were the standard fit on W202's

My thanks to Iain, Television and Malcolm. My difficulty was relating my Bosch/Blaupunkt number to the Hirschmann one. The good folk at car-masts-uk have sent me a blown-up picture of the latter, to compare with what I've got, but I haven't yet had time to take mine out. They reckon Hirschmann supplied to Bosch, who rebadged them. If it's the same, I'll get the mast, otherwise a new Auta 2040. Again, my thanks for your kind responses.

The whip or mast is identified by the pip on the end of the mast ,it can be purchased seperately, is not very expensive @ around £20 from an MB dealer and is easy to fit.
