C180 elegance estate 1997- wiper problem

first off, hi to everyone....new here having problem with wipers. the wipers work on normal anf fast setting but not intermitent wipe. also when turned off they dont return to start...they stay where they are turned off at. i have felt and heared the relay clicking on the intermitent setting, but nothing's happening. all the other stalk functions are working fine.
As above it's a 'C180 elegance estate 1997' manual 5 speed box.

ps all fuses are ok too

also only had the car for about 3 months...and have never worked.

Hello and welcome,, first as these things never get serviced I would do this as in the link

will not work. this happens exactly in mine. First the intermittent worked after the car was warm, then it worked when it liked, then it just stopped working and after i tried to change the switch, it started parking anywhere it liked. I just left it for now.
I think the relay N10 is the problem or the combi switch
If the wiper was faulty, all functions would stop working

My reason for saying do the service is only as very stiff linkage can give problems with parking, and at least if the linkage is perfect you can move on
