I hope this is a simple one.

Recently I have experienced my C180K (03) idling a bit funny at standstill. Firstly it sticks at about 1500-1600RPM when I bring the car to a halt, if I rev the engine it rises and falls back to 1000rpm and often it slowly rises to about 1500/1600RPM and then drops back to about 800-1000RPM. I have not experienced a drop in performance and it is not an erratic fluctuation in revs but it is there and annoys me. The other day I noticed a slight juddering when I started the engine. Sometimes it remains where it should be about 800/900RPM at idle.

Any help gratefully received as ever.

:)

Maybe an ecu problem. This is an interesting one. I hope some other members will come on board with their views. The juddering maybe another isolated problem and hard to attribute to the ECU

throttle body

The problem could also be the throttle body, i have known of similar situations of unusual idleing and has always been traced back to a problem with the throttle body. The issue with this is that it has something to do with the electrics in the throttle body which is very complicated. Ask your mechanic.
