Hi .
I have a rattle on start up from what i think is the camshaft adjuster on the inlet side . I wondered if anyone has had this issue and resolved it . Not sure if its the magnet or the valve or the sprocket but i have receipts to show a timing chain kit replacement 2 years ago according to the history . Would like an idea of possible root cause if anyone can help.

Try changing the tensioner. See if noise goes. Often oil seal oring in tensioner leaks warm oil out when standing.

Smart + others :)
If the chain has been replaced with a tensioner with a good quality brand, I would suspect variable camshaft sprockets at fault. The tensioner is behind alternator but I doubts that’s at fault.
