c180 running rough

hi there i have a c180 on a n plate and as soon as it gets over 2000 revs its starts to splutter up2 about about 4 ive just had the cat replaced as it had blown the cat and now ive had a new injector fitted but the problem is still there could some of the cat blown into the back box thanks daniel.

yes possibly so, i had to replace everthing from the front pipe back also trying unplugging the maf and running it. see how it drives then

It will not have a "maf". It might have an air mass sensor though. The term "maf" is generally reserved for diesels.

I would look at the ignition circuit. Plugs, leads, caps, coils etc......

ive tried unpluging the sensor but the problem is still there i just took the back box of today and everything seems fine and also all the plugs and leads are ok could it be the lamba sensor and does anybody know were this will be located as it is not near the cat thanks daniel

I think MAF or MAS is the generally accepted abbreviation for the Mass Air Flow sensor fitted to both diesel and petrol cars.

The lambda sensor on my 97 C180 is fitted into the exhaust manifold, electrical connection is above the duovalve near the brake servo. You could try disconnecting it first and see if that makes a difference. To change it, you will need to get under the car with a spanner and reach up next to the ( cold) exhaust pipe. Its easy to change, took me about ten minutes and 3 swear words!
