C180 W202..rev Out 4000rpm

My c180 w202 auto. when i put my foot down and the car reaches about 4000 rpm in each gear, it sounds like the engine is at max revs and kindof stutters. it is as if you put your foot down when in neutral and keep to redline.....this is a hard one to explain !!!!!

There is a limiter set to about 4000 when you are in park or neutral to stop damaging the engine. So I guess there may be a problem with that function if it is doing it in gear.
Perhaps a diagnostic would show it up. Maybe it's the pesky brake light switch as I know this causes all sorts of problems with otherwise unrelated issues.
Television might be your man to answer this.

I,m sure i,ve read somewhere on another forum something similar to this and they reckon it was caused by a faulty E.C.U.
Get the car plugged into a diagnostic
Any one else any idea?

Thanks for the info......ive got a codereader and a codereader bible on its way from the good ol US.....we`ll see wot happens.
