Hi, this is my first post, I wonder if you could help me please

I have a problem with the auto gearbox of my C180 W203 2002 with 42000 miles, the problem started a week ago when I left my home in the morning & the gear shifting from 1 to 2 was very rough as if the car was hit from behind, & even the rear tyres were skidding during the gear change, & it has been the case since then. I took the car to an MB specialist who has changed the ATF & filter & diagnosed a fault in the gearbox electronic plate which he has changed as well, I was happy that he's found the fault & I even asked him to give the car an A type service as it was going to be due in 2000miles.

I went to pick up my car, & the mechanic emphasised that the fault has gone, I paid a bill of £600+, and when I drove off, again exacly the same thing happened & nothing has changed.

Any idea of what could be causing this to happen? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the forum,,the speed plate would not have been at fault here I think,,this only cures the locking up into the get you home mode locked in a low gear.

Lets wait till some of the guys that work on them have to say

Did they clear the fault codes after changing the electroplate?

Thanks for the replies, yes they did clear the faults.
I agree it was a high figure bill, especially when you have your car back not fixed, but service A was included in the price.

I'd be going back and demonstrating the fault still exists..

Does that mean that electro plate & conductor plate are the same thing? which I've already changed?
