C180 W203 Stereo

Hi all - really sorry if this post is in the wrong place

My dad recently bought a C180 W203 2001 (Y) Saloon (2.0L) and it came with a sony explode CD Player and a tray underneath. The stereo has been linked to the cigarette lighter for the ignition (even though who ever had put it in had put the ignition to the battery and battery to cigarette lighter so it wouldnt save any staions - now swopped). Obviously this isnt the original stereo and has been bodged.

My question is - what stereos fit this car that are by Mercedes and has any one got any links for them / part numbers / any for sale? Also, has any one got the owners booklet / knows where i can get one?

Please help as i have seen various conflicting posts about differentstandad CD players and people buying them and them not fitting

Comand? and i know he switched between the W203 and W209 lol

I want a good MB factory stereo and there seems to be no certainty to what will fit or work. Any one else got any ideas to what will fit and work?

The part number (in post#4) shows it as Audio20 It has been superseded twice..

Look at the bottom of the windscreen passenger side and the vin number is there,its the first 6 number and it should fit

I see that npuk has answered and you should respond to his post

Why on earth would you want to put a MB radio back in they are terrible compared with a good Sony or Kenwood with USB and MP3.

Remember if your stereos been bodged like that you might need to do a bit of a rejig with the wires an the connectors may be different.

hi if it is the early w203 only the audio 10 will fit,i have a 2001 c220 and i have bought a audio 20 unit for it but with the info i have got it is very difficult to change to the newer stereo as they work on a canbus system and all of that needs to be changed along with the switch panel and heater control and new wiring as even the antenna is different.any info i have received it just does not swap as easy as other cars.if you do manage to change let me know as any new info on changing up would be appreciated.
