C180K Coupe - need help with front spring ? (N. London)

Hello,

I need to change both front springs in my C180 Kompressor '03 car, but I don't know if my suspension is a standard one or is a sport one. Is there any way of checking this ?
I also need corect paro no. for both springs (they are probably the same).

And maybe info where (and who) can I do it properly in North London ? (I live in Enfield)

best thing you could do is ring your local MB dealer, coil spring shouldnt be that expensive for your car, give them your registration and they will find the springs for your car. Fitting them is a different thing as you need the MB spring compressor, sealeys do a tool that works just as well but if your not good with spanners then best let someone else do it.

Springs can kill!!!!! so dont risk a DIY if your not sure.

The thing is that Iam not sure what is the part number for correct springs...
I spoke to three MB Parts Dept in London today, the price is the same but now I have two different part no. One of them is for sport suspension:

A 203 321 4704

and the other one is for normal/standard suspension:

A 203 321 4004

How can I find out which one do I need ? Ofcourse I could just buy one for this model, but when I asked for the part number... why its different! Shouldn't be exactly the same ?

And Iam looking for someone who could fit them for me in North London, someone with tools to do that. If I won't find anyone I will have to go to local garage, because if I would like to do that in MB they would charge me £346 + VAT + parts (2x £50).

Did you give the parts person your VIN number ????????????

You must do this as the computer will know YOUR suspension set up as it came from the factory, ie. whether it is sport or not. The parts person will then see the springs suitable for your car that match YOUR suspension.

I did give them my VIN, and two of them quote me with different part no.
I dont understand that.

Would you know how much does he charge for that sort of job?
