Hi All,

I have developed a problem with my c200 (w202) auto box. When cold it goes up through the gears no problem however if the car is warmed up and for example I slow down to go round a tight corner it seems to be holding back from going up the gears. Autobox oil has been changed.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Hell, not quite clear, so once you take or corner, the car stays in a low gear ?

Hi Television sorry for the lack of detail. When the engine is warm and you come to a halt and then accelarate away the gears seems to hold the car back, the engine seems to struggle. If I then stop the car and restart it the car runs fine untill I come to a bit of road where I have to slow down again. It will then repeat this
thanks

If you have a MAF I think that will be what is wrong

a new development is a clunking noise when I accelerate out of second gear.
I`am sure its coming from my gearbox although it only makes this noise in a low gear.Third fourth and fith gears are ok. If there was a fault would it put the engine into safe mode where I could only limp home?
Thanks

Did you replace or check the MAF as suggested, You need the codes read on a star diagnostic machine.
