Hi everyone.
Since this W/E owner of a used ~18k miles C200 CDI Sport (up until now BMW 320TD estate).
Love the sports supension, but think the car could do with more horses, especially in comparison to my previous Beemer.
Have come across the Brabus tuning kit (chip?!) on the web and a few posts in this forum, but couldn't find specific threads reg my model.
Here's my questions (and thanks a lot for any advice in advance):
1. Are there any merc approved kits for my model, and, if so, which?
2. I gather that the merc warranty may be affected due to mileage etc. - is that correct?
3. Does (and if so in what way) any (approved) kit reduce longevity of the engine (and/or gear box)?
4. How straightforward is it to get the paperwork sorted (insurance; DVLA)?

Thanks again.
Marcel

Not sure if there is a brabus kit for the 200. I know there is one for the 320/350.
I agree though, I found the 200 real fun, really zippy and revvy engine for a diesel, but ultimately underpowered.
A bra bus kit in any case is going to be very expensive. They charge £2,000 from memory for something you can get from a remap for £350. My understanding of the warranty implications was that it had to be fitted from new though, so you may have a quandary.

Any upgrade is going to affect longevity but provided it's not too extreme, it shouldn't be too much of a concern. You may just need new injectors at 120,000 instead of 150,000. The transmission should be fine though.

Thanks so much for the reply - am very very very tempted to go with a remap for obvious reasons (btw my question regards potentially detrimental effects on engine and gearbox revolved around excessive wear and tear due to increased loads (crankshaft bearings / pistons and p rings / clutch etc), but I guess you've covered this...)
Have come across a few company's in / near Glasgow on the web which do remaps and the big question now is how to avoid cowboys...
Wonder if you would be able to recommend a company or two with a branch in or near Glasgow?
Also, I take it, not all of these remaps are done with a "rolling road", which intuitively seems to be the soundest way to do it to me!? What do you think?
Thanks a million again!
