New memeber saying hi with a question for the techs on here..

Just aqquired a 53plate c200 k 1.8 with a misfire, was too cheap to let it slip away in all honesty...

History of the car is,one owner, serviced on time by the same garage since new, with oe parts , cost hasnt been an issue until now.,

Has run fine for its 164k miles, until 3 weeks ago.

The car starts on the button and runs perfect until warm, then the misfire appears, ticks over sweet, but under load it misfires on cyl 1 .

Parts fitted to try to cure it before i bought it are

4x new bosch coil packs
new plugs
New upstream llambda sensor
new Breather hose from block to inlet man

Throttle body has been cleaned out, and an inlet cleaner run thru whilst running.
Theres no traces of oil in the loom at all.

Only 2 codes stored are misfire on cyl 1 and mixture adaption limits reached

ANy ideas guys

Sticking valve in the head, was such a big problem when this engine first come out. Still on going to this day!! Head rebuild is the only cure........

No its easy, remove the rocker cover first of all, there is a mark on each camshaft which lines up with mark on the sprockets the crank times up with a mark on the timing cover with OT on the crank pulley.

There is a locking tool that locks the cams but you wont need it to check the timing marks.
